Tata, Mahindra, Kia and Toyota are waiting to launch new compact SUVs in India within the next six to nine months
Here we take a look at the upcoming compact SUVs that are waiting to be launched over the next six to nine months in India from brands like Tata, Kia, Toyota and Mahindra.
1. Tata Punch CNG:
In early August 2023, Tata will introduce the CNG version of the Punch, to compete squarely with the recently launched Hyundai Exter CNG. The Punch CNG made its global debut at the Auto Expo earlier this year and it will feature twin-cylinder technology as the Altroz CNG. It will be powered by the familiar 1.2L NA petrol engine developing around 73.5 PS in CNG mode.
2. Tata Nexon Facelift:
Taking design inspiration from the Curvv concept, the upcoming facelift will be the second biggest update for the compact SUV in its six-year lifespan. Besides the thoroughly redesigned exterior, the cabin will get a slew of enhancements including a new steering wheel with an illuminated logo, touch-based climate controls, a larger touchscreen, a 360-degree camera system and a lot more. A new 1.2L DI turbo petrol engine will more likely be introduced as well.
3. Kia Sonet Facelift:
The Kia Sonet facelift could make its world debut before the end of this calendar year and it will more likely go on sale in India in early 2024. It will get a number of updates inside and out while mechanically, it could remain the same. The equipment list will also gain notable advancements.
4. Toyota Compact SUV:
The rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx could be dubbed the Toyota Taisor. Just like its donor, it will sit on the same Heartect platform and is expected to get minor exterior revisions and a new interior theme. The 1.2L NA K-series petrol and the 1.0L three-cylinder turbo petrol engines will be utilised, paired with manual or automatic transmission options.
5. Mahindra XUV300 Facelift:
The updated version of the Mahindra XUV300 will likely be introduced in the first half of next year and it will be heavily influenced by the XUV700. The interior could come with a major revamp while the existing 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines will be carried over.
