Carmakers such as Hyundai, Kia and Toyota are expected to introduce new seven-seater cars in India in the remaining parts of this CY

In the remaining parts of this calendar year, as many as five new seven-seater cars are expected to launch in India and four of them will be SUVs. Here we have brought you a rundown of the upcoming models from Hyundai, Toyota, Kia, Force and Jeep.

1. Hyundai Alcazar Facelift:

The heavily revised Hyundai Alcazar is set to arrive in the second half of this year. It will take significant design cues from the recently launched Creta facelift, featuring extensive updates both inside and out. Along with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), the updated model is expected to mirror the features list of its five-seater sibling.

2. New-Gen Kia Carnival:

The new-gen Kia Carnival is set to launch in India in the coming months. It recently received a global facelift, and the Indian version of this premium MPV will have similar updates, both inside and out. This marks a significant shift from the old model as it’s the first time the fourth generation makes its way to India. The 2.2L diesel engine will likely remain unchanged while the equipment list will be brimmed with new features and tech.

3. 5-Door Force Gurkha:

The five-door variant of the Force Gurkha has been teased alongside its returning three-door sibling with a launch scheduled to happen in the coming weeks. The former will be offered in various seating layouts, including a seven-seater option. Inside, the cabin will feature an upgraded touchscreen infotainment system, a shift-on-the-fly knob and a new digital instrument console amongst other changes. The 2.6L diesel engine sourced from Mercedes-Benz will continue to be employed.

4. Jeep Meridian Facelift:

The Meridian facelift will be introduced in the coming months in India and it will get cosmetic changes and new colour schemes. New features could be introduced though but no mechanical revisions are likely as it will be a mid-cycle update only. The 2.0L diesel engine will stay put, paired with manual and automatic transmission choices.

5. Toyota Fortuner Mild Hybrid:

The Toyota Fortuner MHEV will more likely launch in India before the end of this CY or in early 2025 and is already available in markets like South Africa. It utilises a typical 48V mild hybrid technology found in the Hilux mild-hybrid variant. The system will help increase fuel economy while reducing emissions and boosting the acceleration capabilities of the 2.8L GD series diesel engine.
