Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched the S-Cross facelift in India last year. The prices for the facelift S-Cross Crossover starts from Rs. 8.60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) onward. The Crossover is available in four trims and gets a single diesel engine under its hood. Maruti Suzuki has worked a lot in making the new product successful.

They have invested a total of Rs. 100 crore behind the development of this car and the new S-Cross comes with over 95 per cent localization now. That said, here are the 5 things you should know about the new Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift.

1. Gets only the 1.3 Liter diesel unit now

Sadly, Maruti has decided to discontinue the more powerful 1.6 Liter diesel unit now with the S-Cross. So the facelift variant gets only the tried and tested 1.3 Liter unit sourced from Fiat under its hood. The 1.3 Liter engine, which has been badged DDiS 200 now also gets company’s Smart Hybrid from Suzuki (SHVS) technology. This engine has been tuned to deliver 89 Bhp of peak power and 200 NM of torque and is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox which sends power to the front wheels.

2. New Exterior styling

The facelift S-Cross has received plenty of changes to the exterior. The Crossover now gets an all-new face which gets dominated by a new chrome grille. While the headlamp unit too has been redesigned as well. The headlamp unit now consists of a projector unit with LED DRLs.

The reworked front bumper also gets a wider air dam and redesigned fog lamps. Towards the side profile, the S-Cross features a sportier set of alloy wheels. While the ORVM’s too looks new and now comes with an integrated turn signal. Towards the rear the Crossover features a redesigned wraparound LED taillamps.

3. Updated Interior

The new S-Cross facelift interior looks refreshed and premium thanks to the all black treatment. The dashboard towards the front gets a soft touch along with piano black finish around the new touchscreen infotainment system. The top end trim also offers plenty of new high-end features which were not available on the pre-facelift Crossover.

4. Plenty of features on the top spec Alpha variant

The S-Cross now gets plenty of interesting features on the top spec trim like we mentioned above. The S-Cross Crossover features a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple car Play and Android Auto. There is also an automatic rain sensing wiper, automatic headlamp levelling, driver side anti-pinch window and Cruise Control on offer as well.

5. Plenty of safety features on offer

The S-Cross Crossover gets a collection of advanced safety features to keep its passengers safe inside during the time of an impact. The S-Cross features dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt pre-tensioner with force limiter, Suzuki-TECT body, ISOFIX child seat restraint, pedestrian protection compliance etc.
