Brands like Royal Enfield, Triumph, KTM, and Hero MotoCorp will bring in new motorcycle in the 400 to 450 cc space within the next twelve months
Over the course of the next twelve months, the 400 to 450 cc motorcycle segment will see the arrival of a host of new offerings from different brands and here we have explained about all of them:
1. Royal Enfield Himalayan 450:
Royal Enfield will introduce the new generation Bullet 350 towards the end of August in India and it will more likely be followed by the long-awaited Himalayan 450 this festive season. It will be underpinned by a brand platform and will be equipped with an all-new 450 cc single-cylinder engine producing a maximum power output of 40 bhp.
2. Triumph Scrambler 400X:
Confirmed to launch in October, the Triumph Scrambler 400X will sit on the same hybrid perimeter frame as the recently introduced Speed 400. However, to suit the off-road character, it will have a longer wheelbase, higher ground clearance and longer travel suspension. It takes design inspiration from its bigger Scrambler 900 and 1200 siblings and will be priced competitively.
3. New-Gen KTM 390 Duke:
The third generation KTM 390 Duke will more likely make its global debut before the end of this year before going on sale in markets like India in early 2024. It will feature a heavily updated platform, a new swingarm and subframe and the styling will take inspiration from its Super Duke sibling. It will be powered by a new 399 cc liquid-cooled engine, mooted to make more power and torque than the existing 373 cc motor.
4. Royal Enfield Hunter 450:
To compete squarely with the Triumph Speed 400, Royal Enfield will bring in the Hunter 450 and it will have a lot in common with the Himalayan 450. The neo retro roadster will boast LED headlamp, tail lamp and indicators, all-digital cluster, split seats, side-mounted exhaust, 17-inch wheels, USD front forks, etc. It could be priced around Rs. 2.4 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect it to launch in the first half of next year.
5. Hero 440 cc Bike:
The first Hero branded motorcycle coming out of its partnership with Harley-Davidson will likely hit showrooms by March 2024. Reports indicate that it will be a power cruiser taking inspiration from the Yamaha MT-01 and will use the 440 cc single-cylinder air- and oil-cooled engine found in the HD X440. It currently develops 27 bhp and 38 Nm.
