Maruti Suzuki officially launched the Vitara Brezza in March 2016 and ever since the compact SUV was so popular among Indian customers. The Vitara Brezza is the best selling UV model in the country and it helped Maruti Suzuki to become the leader in this segment before becoming best-seller amongst all SUVs.

The compact SUV got a minor update earlier this year as the company has given more features along with an automatic transmission to further improve reach and increase volume sales. Here are the five reasons why Vitara Brezza is the Best Seller in India:

1. High Degree of Safety

The Vitara Brezza received four-star ratings from Global NCAP like its rivals and the company is offering lots of safety features even from base variant. The compact SUV comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belts with pre-tensioners, force limiter, ISOFIX child-seat restraints and high-speed alert, which is introduced to make our roads safer. According to Global NCAP, the body is stable as the crash test was conducted at a speed of 64 km/h.

2. Fuel Efficiency of Diesel Engine

Maruti Suzuki introduced the Vitara Brezza with a single engine option, which is diesel as they are yet to launch a petrol model. The compact SUV is powered by 1.3 L multijet diesel engine sourced from Fiat producing 89 bhp of power at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. According to ARAI, the Vitara Brezza return 24.29 kmpl, which makes it one of the fuel-efficient models in its class.

The Vitara Brezza is based on the new Suzuki Global C-platform and the compact SUV measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, 1,640 mm in height and the wheelbase is 2,500 mm. Even though Vitara Brezza is a compact SUV, the company has given good space inside the cabin for both front and rear passengers along with 328 litres of boot space. The company has given lots of cubby holes inside the cabin and the dashboard gets two glove box, which gets the cooling function.

4. Traditional SUV styling

The  Vitara Brezza is the first model completely designed and developed by Maruti Suzuki without any involvement from engineers in Japan. The exterior design theme took some inspiration from the XA-Alpha concept showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo. The front grille along with big headlamps and a muscular design for bumper gives an SUV look for the compact SUV.

The company has given black plastic cladding running across the body and square shape of wheel arches looks good as the Compact SUV gets 16-inch wheels with 215/60 section tyres while lower variant gets 15-inch wheels. The rear gets a simple design with big tail lamps and an integrated spoiler rear. Overall the SUV design theme works well with Indians.
