Maruti Suzuki is preparing a range of new products for arrival over the next 12 months to further strengthen Nexa lineup

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is planning to consolidate its domestic lineup with the introduction of new products that are bound for Nexa premium dealerships. The largest carmaker in the country is expanding the Nexa sales network aggressively across India and there are several new products waiting to fill up the display floor in the next one year. Here we have listed all of them:

1) Ignis Facelift

The ‘urban hatchback’ sits at the entry price point of Nexa dealerships and it has endured decent success over the years and reached one lakh sales milestone in April 2019. Launched in early 2017, the Ignis was the third product to enter Nexa outlets and it will be receiving a facelift soon.

With exterior changes like revised grille having U-shaped grille design as in Vitara Brezza, new silver skid plate and tweaks to the rear are expected. Moreover, the 1.2-litre K series petrol engine developing 82 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of peak torque at 4,200 rpm will be upgraded to meet BSVI compliance. The same BSVI powertrain was recently launched in the Swift, Dzire and Wagon R.

2) Ertiga Cross

The second generation Ertiga introduced in November 2018 has lived up to the expectations of its predecessor by posting consistent sales since its debut. Utilising its popularity, Maruti Suzuki will be bringing in a Cross variant with exterior and interior changes.

It will have notable cosmetic updates to differentiate itself from the regular variant while the interior will likely get second-row captain seating arrangement besides the inclusion of new features. With more upscale nature, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross will be sold exclusively from Nexa showrooms.Maruti Ertiga Cross, Electric Wagon R to be Sold from NEXA Dealerships

3) Wagon R Electric

Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle for India based on the JDM-spec Wagon R will go on sale next year in India and it will be retailed through Nexa sales outlets. The e-Wagon R prototypes are developed at Suzuki’s HQ in Japan and manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s local facility in Gurugram, Haryana via CKD route as 50 units are currently under testing. While the exact range and battery pack are unknown, expect the production-spec version to get a decent range of around 200 km and reports suggest it could be priced around Rs. 7 lakh.

4) Toyota Corolla Based Sedan (Expected)

Maruti Suzuki had a mediocre run with the Kizashi before it was pulled out from the market in 2014. The upcoming rebadged version of the Corolla could act as its spiritual successor when it goes on sale within the span of the next twelve months. If Toyota Glanza is anything to go by, expect the Corolla-based Maruti Suzuki sedan to get minor exterior and cabin tweaks while continuing with the same powertrain lineup as its donor with BSVI compliance. It will likely be positioned above the Ciaz at Nexa chain of network.

5) Swift RS (Expected)

It is mated to a five-speed MT and should around 22 kmpl alongside having nimble performance characteristics. The sportier performance will be accompanied by updated exterior and interior details.
