In recent years, automatic gearbox is more popular among customers as it is more convenient over manual gearbox due to the increasing traffic. But manufacturers usually offer AMT or torque converter unit compared to CVT or DSG in budget cars as they are more expensive than the latter.

But it is gradually changing with newer models and in this article, we take a look at the cars that come with automatic gearbox and paddle shifters and it must be noted that Honda rules in this technology.

1. Honda Amaze

The second generation of Amaze, which made its debut last year comes with the option of CVT gearbox in both petrol and diesel variants. But the company offers paddle shifters, which is a segment first feature only with the petrol engine as it gives manual control for the driver without taking hands off the steering wheel.

2. Honda Jazz

Honda is offering the petrol variant of Jazz with 7-speed CVT gearbox and it also comes with paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, which gives a sporty feel for the driver. The CVT gearbox with paddle shifters is available from mid-spec variant onwards and it is powered by same 1.2 L i-VTEC engine from Amaze with 90 PS and 110 Nm. 3. Ford EcoSport

Like other models in this list, Ford is only offering the petrol variant of EcoSport with an automatic transmission and it comes with a new 6-speed automatic gearbox with the paddle shifters behind the steering wheel.

The company has tuned the gearbox to offer good mileage, less vibration and quieter operation compared to earlier version. The new 1.5 L dragon series engine produces 123 PS and 150 Nm. The EcoSport with automatic gearbox return 14.8 Km/l. Ford EcoSport price starts at Rs. 7.82 lakh (Ex-Showroom).

4. Honda BR-V

Honda BR-V petrol variant is powered by 1.5 L engine and it also comes with the option of same 7-speed CVT gearbox with paddle shifters. But it is only available in V variant, which is just below the top-spec VX and this engine produces 119 PS and 145 Nm. According to ARAI, the BR-V CVT gearbox combination returns 16 Km/l. 5. Honda City

The City is one of the most popular sedans in its segment and it also comes with same 7-speed CVT gearbox that is available in other Honda models also but it comes with a petrol engine only. Except base variant, all other variants come with the option of CVT gearbox with paddle shifters.
