410cc engine of RE Himalayan Spied Separately; most likely at an event or a dealer workshop training, launch is expected before Auto Expo 2016

Himalayan is being spied in all ways possible. After exhaust notes, clear images, up close images. This time it is the engine without the motorcycle being spied for the first time. The engine on the face of it seems like a brand new unit which is pretty much confirmed to be a 410cc engine unit. The engine is suppose to be the most refined and capable units after the 535cc unit came with the Royal Enfield CGT.

The specifications of the new 410 cc Engine is yet to be 100% confirmed. However, various sources have suggested that it churns out around 27 PS and 32 Nm of torque from its air/oil cooled motor. We expect the gearbox to be a 5-speed unit like the rest of Royal Enfield stablemates.

The 410 cc Himalayan Engine is finished in black and carries the new ‘RE’ logo on the crankcase which apparently has “wings” on it. It is being said that this new engine can power a lot more models that will come from the Royal Enfield family.

Middle weight segment is booming and Royal Enfield will make sure it uses this platform by creating more models using same chassis, engine and suspension units. In other engine news, unconfirmed reports suggest that the 750cc engine is being worked upon and the unit could be made available to be seen first at the Auto Expo 2016.

The 750cc is most likely a twin-cylinder engine and could be the first attempt by Royal Enfield to hit the big boys like Triumph and Harley. We expect the 410 cc Himalayan Engine equipped motorcycle which are set to come in two variants most likely which is an adventure series and retro styling shape to start their sticker price under two lakh which could start from 1.65 lakhs.
