4 Upcoming MPVs In India – Maruti, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota

MPVs are currently enjoying strong demand in the market and a number of brands including Hyundai and Toyota will soon be launching new 7-seater cars in India

With the demand for comfortable and premium MPVs rising in the Indian market, brands like Maruti, Toyota, Hyundai, and Kia are all set to launch as many as four new MPVs in India in the next few months.

1. Hyundai Stargazer

The new Stargazer made its global debut recently and is expected to launch in India somewhere in 2023. While the Korean carmaker is yet to share the official launch timeline of the Stargazer in India, reports suggest that it will share its powertrain options with the Kia Carens. Needless to say, the MPV will take on the rivals like the Maruti Ertiga, Maruti XL6, Mahindra Marazzo, and the Kia Carens.

2. Kia Carnival

The Kia Carnival is one of the most premium offerings in the country and is offered with a comfortable and feature-rich cabin. The brand is likely to soon introduce the next-gen iteration of the Kia Carens in the Indian market to take on the rivals like the upcoming Toyota Innova Hycross. The Carnival is likely to be offered with the same 2.2L diesel engine in the Indian market that churns out 200 bhp and 440 Nm.

3. Toyota Innova Hycross

The Toyota Innova Hycross will soon make its global debut and is likely to be offered with multiple strong hybrid powertrain options. Needless to say, this next-gen iteration of the MPV will be offered with a new exterior styling and will be offered with a monocoque architecture with an FWD setup. The new platform and tweaked suspension setup will help the Innova Hycross offer a much-improved ride quality inside the cabin. More details will soon be shared by the brand.

4. Maruti’s Rebadged 7-Seater MPV

After the launch of the new Innova Hycross in the country, Maruti is expected to launch its own rebadged version of the Hycross in the market. This new Maruti 7-seater MPV will offer a similar mechanical setup and will share its powertrain options with the Innova Hycross. Once launched in India, it will take on the rivals like the Kia Carnival and the Toyota Innova Hycross.
