4 TVS Models Amongst Top 10 2W Sold In A Month For The First Time

TVS Jupiter, XL100, Apache and Raider finished within the top ten in the monthly two-wheeler sales charts for February 2023

For the first time, TVS Motor Company had four two-wheelers finish within the top ten monthly sales table for February 2023. Hero MotoCorp, on the other hand, only had two models as the Splendor and HF Deluxe completed in the first and fourth positions respectively.

The Apache series and Raider 125 featured in the ninth and tenth positions last month with impressive YoY growth. The TVS Apache registered a domestic tally of 34,935 units in the month of February 2023 as against 16,406 units during the same period last year with a YoY positive volume increase of 112.94 per cent.

The Raider 125 posted a total of 30,346 units against 14,744 units during the corresponding period twelve months ago with a YoY growth of 105.82 per cent. The Apache endured the highest YoY sales growth within the top ten as well. Moving up the order, the XL 100 is a consistent finisher within the top ten almost every month and it did not disappoint last month.

The moped recorded a total of 35,346 units last month as against 35,848 units during the same period in 2022 with a YoY sales decline of 1.4 per cent. The TVS Jupiter has been the second best selling scooter in India for a very long time and last month was no different. The Jupiter recorded a total of 53,891 unit sales last month as against 47,092 units in Feb 2022 with a YoY positive sales increase of 14.44 per cent.

It sat fifth in the overall top top ten sales charts and beat one of its closest rivals, the Suzuki Access 125, by a big margin. The Jupiter, XL100, Apache and Raider contributed to over 1.5 lakh units for the Hosur-based manufacturer last month. The high sales volume for these models certainly reflected in its overall numbers as TVS moved very close to Honda.

TVS registered 2,21,402 unit sales as against 1,73,198 units in February 2022 with a YoY growth of 27.83 per cent and the market share stood close to 22 per cent. It outsold its main rival, Bajaj Auto, by over one lakh units and was only 5,662 units adrift of the second-placed Honda.
