Mahindra will soon be launching the new Mahindra 5-door to take on the rivals like the Maruti Jimny 5-Door and the Force Gurkha 5-Door SUV
Mahindra is currently one of the most popular SUV brands in the country and is offering an extremely extensive portfolio for buyers in the market. After the successful launch of the SUVs like the XUV700 and the Scorpio N, the brand is now gearing up to launch as many as three new SUVs in the Indian market including the new Thar-5door and the XUV400 EV.
1. Mahindra XUV400 EV
The Mahindra XUV400 EV was recently unveiled by the brand and will soon go on sale early next year. The Indian carmaker is expected to price this new electric SUV from Rs 16-18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will position it as a direct rival to the cars like the Tata Nexon EV and the MG ZS EV. The XUV400 EV will feature a 39.4 kWh battery pack that powers a front axle-mounted motor with a rated peak power and torque output of 150 bhp and 310 Nm respectively.
2. Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus
Expected to be priced from Rs 10 lakh, the new Bolero Neo Plus will boast a more spacious cabin with multiple seating configurations and is likely to share its powertrain options with the Thar. Furthermore, this new SUV will be longer than the standard Bolero Neo and is also likely to offer a more extensive features list. From what we know so far, it will be offered in two variant options – P4 and P10.
3. Mahindra Thar 5-Door
The new Mahindra 5-Door SUV is likely to be unveiled at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023 and is said to be underpinned by the same platform that is also utilised in the new Scorpio N. Reports also suggest that the new Thar 5-door might also get the same pentalink rear suspension that is offered with the Scorpio N.
This new iteration of the Thar will be longer than the Thar 3-Door and is expected to feature more powerful engine options. On the features front, the new Thar 5-Door might offer features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity & navigation, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, steering mounted controls, multiple airbags, rear parking and others.
