2023 Tata Nexon Facelift is expected to go on sale within the next three months while the updated Harrier and Safari will follow it

Tata Motors has been rigorously testing a trio of new SUVs for the domestic market. The Nexon compact SUV is expected to be the first one to arrive in its new avatar within the next three months but no official confirmation has been made yet. The facelifted Harrier and Safari will more likely be introduced before the closure of this calendar year.

The Tata Nexon made its local debut back in 2017 and the introduction of the updated model in early 2020 has really helped in increasing its volume sales. The sub-four-metre SUV is currently one of the top-selling SUVs in the country and the upcoming facelift will come with big revisions inside and out. It may also gain a new powertrain.

Spy images indicate that the 2023 Tata Nexon will take plenty of design inspiration from the Curvv concept showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo earlier this year. It will mark a big step up in the styling game for Tata as the production-spec Curvv will more likely go on sale as early as next year to compete with midsize SUVs such as Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

The Nexon EV facelift has also been caught testing with similar cosmetic changes. The facelifted Nexon will boast redesigned front fascia, new headlamp cluster and bumper, wider air intake, newly designed alloy wheels, connected LED tail lamps, revised bumper, more muscular bonnet, tweaked tailgate, new character lines, etc. The angular roofline will likely be retained.

The interior will be subjected to a major overhaul as well. It will feature an updated dashboard and centre console, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new digital cluster, a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, capacitive touch controls for AC, 360-degree camera system, wireless smartphone charger and so on.

The existing 1.2L three-cylinder turbo petrol engine will more likely be replaced by a new 1.2L turbo DI petrol mill developing around 125 PS and 225 Nm. It could be linked with a six-speed MT or a DCT. The 1.5L turbo four-pot diesel engine kicking out 110 PS and 260 Nm will be carried over.
