2023 Tata Harrier could be introduced by the middle of next year with a slew of cosmetic updates and the addition of new features and tech including ADAS

Tata Motors is expected to showcase the near-production version of the Punch EV at the 2023 Auto Expo in Greater Noida next month. The electric micro SUV will likely go on sale by late 2023 and it will be based on the new Sigma platform. It could become the most affordable electric SUV in the country upon arrival as it will be positioned below the Nexon EV.

The homegrown manufacturer will look to garner high volumes with the Punch EV to further strengthen its market share in the passenger electric vehicle space, which the brand dominates with more than 90 per cent. Another highlighting launch from Tata will be the facelifted version of the Harrier while the updated Safari also appears to be under development.

The Harrier midsize SUV has been on sale since early 2019 and will be subjected to some visual changes courtesy of the facelift. The front fascia will gain a revised front grille, updated tail lamps, new wheels and sleeker headlamp assembly while other exterior updates are also likely. The interior will get more advanced features and technologies including ADAS.

The driver-assistive and safety technology will likely enable auto emergency braking, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, etc. The Harrier facelift could also get a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a 360-degree camera system.

It could be introduced by the middle of 2023 and expect the prices to hover around Rs. 16.5-24.5 lakh. In a similar fashion to the updated Harrier, the Safari will also gain features such as ADAS and around view camera. On the outside, similar revisions can also be expected with some differences to differentiate both of them visually.

Both SUVs will continue to be equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine developing 170 PS maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The 2023 Tata Safari could go on sale later next year and it could cost around Rs. 18.5 lakh to Rs. 26.5 lakh upon market arrival.
