2023 Hyundai Verna will be introduced on March 21 and it gets a brand new design and interior along with a more upmarket features list

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has today revealed the design renders of its new generation Verna following the release of a set of teasers a few days ago. The all-new midsize sedan will be launched on March 21, 2023 and the new design is based on the latest Sensuous Sportiness philosophy followed in India as well as globally.

Up front, Hyundai says the new Verna features ‘aerodynamic and sleek proportions, albeit while presenting a distinctly futuristic appeal’ and the silhouette showcases its ‘iconic identity’. The sixth generation of the five-seater comes with chiselled surfaces, a distinctive fastback side profile with ‘high quality elements and details’.

Speaking on the announcement, Unsoo Kim MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “Today, we are glad to showcase design renders and direction of the all-new Hyundai VERNA. With the introduction of this futuristic and ferocious sedan, we are aiming to elevate customer experiences and rejuvenate interest in this segment. Through its dynamic proportions and distinctive parametric motifs, the all-new Hyundai VERNA will define new aspirations and pave the way for futuristic experiences.”

The brand new front fascia has a wide grille, sleek headlamps and fog lamps, a horizontal LED light bar and a muscular bonnet structure. The side profile comes with dual-tone alloy wheels and elegant character lines. At the rear, sculpted bootlid and crystalline tail lamps with another LED light bar covering the entire width are present.

The equipment list will come with a floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, powered seats, wireless smartphone charger, ADAS, etc. A 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 115 PS maximum power and 144 Nm of peak torque will continue.

It will be linked with a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic unit as an option. The all-new 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine will kick out 160 PS maximum and 253 Nm and it will stand in place of the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. No diesel will be on offer.
