2022 Mahindra Scorpio N will go on sale on June 27 and it will be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel and a 2.0-litre petrol engine with 4WD in top-end trims

Mahindra & Mahindra will host the market launch of the Scorpio N on June 27, 2022 in India. The new generation Scorpio N will be retailed alongside the existing model, which has been dubbed the Scorpio Classic. The Mahindra Scorpio N is based on a new ladder-frame chassis and it will be safer than the existing model alongside being more spacious.

While Mahindra has been teasing the Scorpio N through a set of videos online, its official specifications, features and other information have not been revealed yet. For those who cannot wait for the upcoming model, a video surfaced on Youtube gives away a number of details alleged to be of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N including the performance numbers.

For the enthusiasts, there is a lot of good news as the performance figures will be similar to that of the XUV700 in the petrol variant. The 2.2-litre four-cylinder mHawk diesel engine will produce a maximum power output of 172 bhp and 370 Nm of peak torque (10 bhp and 50 Nm down on higher-spec XUV700) when paired with a six-speed manual transmission as standard while the optional six-speed AT trim ups the torque to 400 Nm with same 172 bhp.

The XUV700 diesel AT kicks out 182 bhp and 450 Nm. The 2.0-litre four-pot mStallion petrol engine is said to develop 197 bhp – same as the XUV700. As for the features, the Scorpio N will be equipped with a dual-zone climate control system, brown leather interior with two-tone leather seats, 12-speaker Sony audio, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, sunroof, cruise control, engine start/stop button, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, driver drowsiness detection, etc.

The seven colour schemes in which the Mahindra Scorpio N will be offered are White, Silver, Black (Napoli), Red (Rage), Blue (new), Green & Gold (Brushed). Mahindra won’t offer ADAS based assistive and safety tech with the Scorpio N. It will have a ground clearance of 205 mm and will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels in MT and 18-inch alloy wheels in AT trims.

It is already known that a 4WD system will be sold as an option and is said to be a 4-Mode 4X4. As for safety, six airbags, Traction Control, Hill Descent Control and so on will be offered. The exterior features full LED front fog lamps with LED Scorpion Tail DRLs. The SUV is suspended on penta-link rear suspension with Frequency Selective Damping while the descent and ascent angles stand at 47 and 57 degrees respectively.
