The test mule of the upcoming 2020 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has been spotted for the first time in India. The updated motorcycle was spotted with minor cosmetic change including a full LED headlamp that replaced the stock halogen unit of the current model on sale.
The test mule as you can all notice in the spy image features a full LED headlamp setup with low beam switched on while the upper part of the headlamp will be the high beam. The good news is that the upcoming motorcycle retains the same headlamp design which became quite a hit amongst the young buyers of the country.
Although the instrument cluster is not visible in this image, expect it to get a new Bluetooth connectivity just like the one found in their popular Ntorq 125 scooter. Apart from displaying some relevant information, the updated instrument cluster will also showcase some additional information like navigation assist, last parked location and caller id.
As far as the changes to the engine are concerned, the motorcycle already comes in both fuel injected and carbureted variant but the updated BS 6 compliant model will most probably continue only with fuel injection. For your information, the current generation 197.5 cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel injected motor produces about 21 PS of peak power at 8,500 rpm and 18.1 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm.
The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. It is too early to predict whether the upcoming motorcycle will get a jump in its power output or not. Expect the 2020 Apache RTR 200 4V to get a 6-speed gearbox which not only will help improve its fuel efficiency but its performance on the highway as well.
Expect the 2020 Apache 200 4V to also get new graphics and colour schemes to keep things fresh. Besides these minor cosmetic and mechanical changes, the underpinnings will remain the same. The upcoming 2020 Apache 200 4V fuel injected variant will rely on a telescopic suspension setup at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear.
Braking duties will be handled by a disc brake on both ends while a dual channel ABS will also be offered as standard for the safety of the rider. As far as the pricing is concerned, the new changes will result in an increase of Rs 10-15 thousand over the current non-ABS FI variant which costs Rs 1.10 Lakh.
