2020 Skoda Superb Scout is basically a European station wagon that has some off-roading aspirations

Czech carmaker Skoda has taken the wraps off the new 2020 Skoda Superb Scout, which becomes a member of the updated Superb family. Some of you would know that Skoda pioneered the adventure wagon segment with its Octavia Scout, which tasted reasonable success. However, it’s the first time that the Superb, which is the company’s flagship sedan, has received the Scout treatment.

The 2020 Skoda Superb Scout can be termed as an alternative to the gas-guzzling SUVs that offer low emissions and sufficient off-road-cred at an affordable price. The station wagon comes with many new styling bits that make it look more rugged and yet have an air of premiumness about it.

The 2020 Skoda Superb Scout boasts black fender flares, rocker panels and an updated set of bumpers. It also enjoys 15 mm of additional ground clearance and carries a set of metallic-finished skid plats. There is a similar metallic finish even on the ORVM caps and the roof rails.

The new model rides on 18-inch Braga wheels that are exclusive to the 2020 Skoda Superb Scout. The buyers can even choose optional 19-inch Manaslu wheels along with a metallic Tangerine Orange body paint. Like the recently updated sedan version, the Superb Scout carries LED Matrix headlamps and a comprehensive suite of safety features.

On the inside, the 2020 Skoda Superb Scout comes with an overdose of wood trim and a large touchscreen infotainment unit that takes a position on the centre console. The overall black theme with Alcantara seats gives a premium look to the cabin.

Engine options for the 2020 Skoda Superb Scout include a 2.0 TDI unit that outputs 190 hp and a 2.0 TSI that offers 272 hp. Both the motors come mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox each. AWD is available as a standard feature.
