Hyundai Verna facelift will launch in China soon and expected to launch in India early next year most likely at Auto Expo in February next year
Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) enjoys the second spot on the list of top 10 highest selling carmakers in India. The South Korean carmaker initiated its Indian innings with the Santro hatchback and the Accent sedan and later followed it with various new launches including i10 & i20. One of the models that have played an instrumental role in the success of HMIL is the Verna, a C2-segment sedan that is in its third generation now.
The stylish model is about to receive a facelift and will be first launched in the Chinese market. The India launch of the 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift will take place next year. The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift was recently spotted totally undisguised by a Chinese publication.
As has been the case with the latest batch of facelifts from Hyundai, the Verna facelift looks quite different from the current version. Much of this is owing to the fact that its front fascia has been styled as per the company’s latest design language.
Thanks to these updates, the 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift looks much more aggressive than the current model, which is saying a lot if you consider that the pre-facelift version is easily among the sharpest-looking cars in its class. The biggest change that can be found on the front-end is the updated grille, which gets an all-black treatment and has an edgy look.
The new grille is flanked by a new set of headlamps. Each headlamp carries three housings that are connected to each other. Each of these pods features an angular perimeter and look as radical as the new grille. The headlamp features a parking lamp, main beam and a turn indicator each. Thanks to the new grille and the sharper headlamps, the 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift ends up looking far more radical than the current version.
Even the bumper of the 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift is new and looks bolder than the unit it replaces. It features a silver-coloured trim that lends a touch of sophistication to the air-dam. Other than this, the car even features a black-coloured diffuser, which makes the car look even sportier.
In the side profile, the 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift gets a new set of alloy wheels, while the rear-end features a ne set of tail lamps that are connected together through a reflector. Even the rear bumper is new and carries a silver-coloured insert.
Details on the specifications aren’t clear at the moment but in India, the 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift is likely to be sold with the new 1.5-litre diesel and petrol engine options.
