2020 Hyundai Grand i10 will launch around this year’s festive season and will become a direct rival of the Maruti Swift
The 2020 Hyundai Grand i10 is slated to launch around this year’s festive season. The third iteration of the company’s global small car will be a more modern looking and a better-equipped vehicle than the current version. The next-gen i10 was recently caught up close on video, which gives us a good look at the exterior and a part of the interior.
The 2020 Hyundai Grand i10 will feature an evolved design, which means it would have a similar silhouette and a similar tallboy architecture. However, there will be many modern styling elements to help the car look more sophisticated and modern than the current version.
The front-end will carry the company’s signature cascading grille, while the side profile will have a rising beltline. The rear just might have a faint resemblance with that of the Hyundai Venue. On the inside, the 2020 Hyundai Grand i10 should offer more space, while the dashboard will feature a floating type touchscreen infotainment system and Santro-inspired aircraft propeller-type air vents.
Thanks to the updated safety norms, the 2020 Hyundai Grand i10 will come with ABS and EBD, front dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, speed-sensitive door locks, crash-sensitive door unlock, ISOFIX child seat mounts, high speed alert and front seatbelt warning as standard fitments across all variants.
The 2020 Hyundai Grand i10 will be underpinned by an updated version of the present model’s BA platform. In all likelihood, the current 1.2-litre Kappa engine will be carried over, albeit, in a BS-VI-compliant form.
However, the company will axe the 1.2-litre CRDi diesel engine due to fast dropping demand for diesel engines and the fact that providing a BS-VI-compliant motor will lead to a huge bump in the prices. The 4-speed automatic transmission available on the petrol variant of the current model will be replaced with a 5-speed AMT for the 2020 Hyundai Grand i10.
