The 2020 Hyundai Creta recently had a surprise debut at the Shanghai Auto Show 2019 in the ix25 format, India debut expected at Auto Expo

In a surprise of sorts, the Next-Gen Hyundai Creta made a public debut at the ongoing Auto Shanghai 2019 under the ix25 guise. For the uninitiated, the Creta for India is known as the ix25 in the Chinese market, which means the model that has been showcased in the neighbouring country is not much different from what is headed our way in a not-so-distant future.

The New Hyundai Creta, like the recently unveiled 2019 Hyundai Sonata for China, has been designed as per the Sensuous Sportiness theme. However, the front-end of the new model resembles the original Palisade to a great extent.

The front façade of 2020 Creta looks both bolder and more emotive than that of the current model. While the bold cascading grille takes the centre stage, the vertically stacked two-tier LED headlamps add a European touch.

In the side profile, you will be quick to note the resemblance between the 2020 Hyundai Creta and the existing model. However, the squarish wheel arches look a tad bit odd, while the greenhouse looks almost the same as that of the current version.

The rear of the New Hyundai Creta, like the front, has a distinctive European touch due to its two-tier Led tail lights. Even the design of the tailgate seems to have taken inspiration from the Palisade. It even has a faint resemblance with the China-spec Santa Fe.

2020 Hyundai Creta Interior

On the inside, the Next-Gen Hyundai Creta looks nothing like the existing model. The cabin has a minimalist look and the steering wheel looks a bit smaller. The highlight, however, is the huge floating portrait display of the touchscreen infotainment system. Like the Venue, the production model is likely to have several connected features.

The New Hyundai Creta will launch as the all-new ix25 in China in the next half of 2019. The new model is definitely coming to us and should make its debut at the Auto Expo 2020. It will launch soon thereafter.

The 2020 Creta shares its platform with the Kia SP2i, which means there is a fair possibility of a seven-seater version coming in by 2021.
