The next generation Honda Jazz could make global debut towards the end of this year before entering international markets

Honda has been spotted testing the next generation Jazz on international roads several times over the last few months and it gave us a clear indication of what to expect from the matured hatchback. The Jazz is sold as Fit in some global markets including Japan and it’s undergoing a substantial overhaul.

The fourth-generation Fit has grown in dimensions and it could help in a more spacious cabin while the boot could accommodate more volume. The most obvious of changes can be seen from the exterior and the interior will get its share of technological, convenience and equipment updates.

The rendering posted here will show you some idea of how the hatchback will look like but we believe it does not do justice to all the upcoming changes. The 2020 Honda Jazz or Fit has a wider stance and due to the cosmetic upgrades, the overall sportiness has been increased by a certain extent. The digital image was created by Kleber Silva, a Brazilian artist.

The front fascia features a prominent grille assembly similar to the current crop of compact Honda models sold worldwide but the rendering appears to have been inspired by latest Brio instead. The spy shots denote a more dynamic side profile but the pillars will not have grown taller for additional headroom.

The glasshouse of the prototype is smaller than the existing model and the rear end will have horizontal LED tail lamp setup instead of the Boomerang-styled unit derived from CR-V found in the rendering. The cabin will possess revised instrument cluster, updated buttons and dials, newly designed steering wheel, updated touchscreen infotainment system and so on.

As for the performance, the 2020 Honda Jazz could use a 1.5-litre petrol engine combined with a hybrid system producing 151 hp as in the Insight. Moreover, a full-electric variant is also waiting in the wings and it could have a driving range of around 300 km on a single charge.
