2019 Suzuki Vitara comes with cosmetic and interior revisions while boasting a new 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine with 111 PS power

The 2019 Suzuki Vitara has gained plenty of visual updates as we have previously revealed and its pricing has finally been revealed in the United Kingdom. The base SZ4 variants costs £16,999 (Rs. 15.55 lakh approx) and it is offered with a new 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder Boosterjet engine making 111 PS and 170 Nm.

The upgraded SUV also boasts a couple of newly developed powertrains as well as more technology and features in its newest iteration. As for the exterior, we cannot deny the fact the 2019 Suzuki Vitara has become more matured and appealing.

It adorns a newly designed front grille, revised tail lamps with LED graphics and an updated bumper with wider air intake and vertically positioned DRLs. Stepping inside the cabin, the updated Vitara features a revamped instrument panel with 4.2-inch colour MID and has new seat trim on the SZ5 variant.

The Japanese manufacturer has increasingly used soft touch materials to enhance the premium vibe of the compact premium SUV. A whole host of equipment is offered as standard in the SZ4 including automatic AC, cruise control, USB connectivity, Bluetooth integration and all four power windows among others.

The SZ-T gains Smartphone link audio, navigation, rear privacy glass, 17-inch silver coloured alloys and so on. The range-topping SZ5, on the other hand, comes equipped with a more upmarket 17-inch polished alloy wheels, Adaptive Cruise Control, Dual Sensor Brake support, panoramic sunroof, keyless entry with push button start/stop, Traffic Sign Recognition system, Blind Spot Monitoring, etc.

Customers will have the option to choose between 11 colour choices including the new two-tone Solar Yellow Pearl and Ice Greyish Blue. The 1.0-litre Boosterjet is connected to either a manual or a six-speed AT with claimed top speed of 178 kmph while zero to 100 kmph can be achieved in just 11.5 seconds.

It can be had in either front-wheel- or all-wheel-drive configuration. The fully-loaded 1.4 Boosterjet SZ5 ALLGRIP AT is priced at £25,649 (Rs.23.47 lakh approx). The 1.4-litre turbo unit develops 140 PS and 220 Nm and has 0-100 kmph rated at 9.5 seconds with top speed of 200 kmph.

The Vitara will make for a potent rival to the Hyundai Creta and upcoming Tata Harrier if Maruti Suzuki decides to expand its SUV range and launch it in the domestic market but no confirmation has been made yet.
