2019 Renault Duster facelift will launch on July 8 and will aim to revitalize the sales performance of the fast-aging Hyundai Creta rival
Renault India is only days away from launching the 2019 Renault Duster facelift, which will become the second major update for the fast-aging SUV. The new model’s RXZ version, which is the top-end variant, has been previewed in a walkaround video that has surfaced on Youtube, thereby giving us a good look at the new model.
The 2019 Renault Duster shouldn’t be confused with the second generation model that is sold abroad. The company has decided against bringing the latest version to our shores and has instead chosen to upgrade the first gen model to help it find more buyers. In line with this, the refreshed version comes with several updates for its exterior and interior.
The front-end of the 2019 Renault Duster features a bolder, chrome-infused grille that brings the first-gen Duster’s face in line with the company’s latest design language. As seen in the video, the top-end version even gets projector headlamps. Even the fog lamp housings are new. The rear-end gets new surrounds for the tail lamps, while the side profile gets a new set of alloy wheels.
On the inside, the 2019 Renault Duster facelift comes with an updated dashboard and new upholstery, both of which come together to give the SUV a fresh appeal. The top-end version comes kitted out with a touchscreen infotainment unit among other features. The cabin also gets a new steering wheel that looks like the one available on the second-gen Duster sold abroad.
The central aircon vents have been redesigned, while the instrument cluster has also been updated. The RXZ version of the 2019 Renault Duster can be seen featuring a brown leather upholstery with blue stitching that complements the exterior. The key remote for the updated Duster comes from the Kwid.
While details of the specifications are still under the wraps, the 2019 Renault Duster facelift is likely to be available with 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine option. The latter will be available in the 110 PS state of tune, while the less powerful version, which is available on the current model, would face the axe. The diesel version will be available with an optional AMT, while the petrol engine will be sold with a CVT option.
