Nissan officially introduced the new generation of Altima at 2018 New York International Auto Show and it is one of the most popular models of the company in the US market. The Altima price starts at $23,750 (Rs. 17,30,068) for the entry-level model with front-wheel configuration and the company has increased the price slightly over the previous generation model.

The Japanese manufacturer has also introduced Edition One and it comes with 19-inch dark finished alloy wheels, puddle lights, illuminated door sills, lip spoiler at the boot and three years of Nissan Concierge service. Nissan also offers a wide range of extra gifts like Series 3 Apple Watch or Amazon Echo show with Amazon prime membership and more for customers who reserve Altima.

Most of the features of other models come as standard on the Edition One model and it is available only with 2.0 L turbocharged engine with front wheel drive configuration. The Altima Edition One is priced at $35,750 (Rs. 26,04,208) and it is around $1000 more than the Platinum variant. But the exterior changes make it stand out from other models.

The Altima is based on Vmotion 2.0 concept and the design is based on V-motion philosophy, which we have seen in other new generation Nissan products. The front gets V-shaped grille with swept-back headlamps and integrated DRLs in it. The cuts and curves on the bumper along with new fog lamp housing and long hood give an aggressive stance for the sedan.

The coupe-like roofline does make the Altima look sporty and the rear gets big tail lamps, which extend into the boot. The interior design of Altima gives a premium feel with dual tone colour for the dashboard. The new three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and updated instrument cluster give a fresh feel for the cabin.

Nissan has given 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, leather seats, cruise control and more. The Altima is powered by 2.5 L four-cylinder engine with 188 hp and 244 Nm of torque, the 2.0 L turbocharged engine produces 248 hp and 380 Nm of torque.

For the first time, Nissan is offering an all-wheel-drive system with Altima and it comes with lots of advanced safety features like radar-based Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist, Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Braking and more.
