Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Tour M comes with several standard features and is powered by 1.5-litre SHVS petrol engine making 104.7 PS and 138 Nm
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) introduced the second generation Ertiga in November 2018 after nearly a decade of dominating the MPV segment with the previous model. The new model based on the lightweight Heartect platform with more premium exterior and interior changes has been well-received among customers.
The new-gen Ertiga registered nearly 9,000 unit sales in March 2019 and it stood as a testament to the ever-existing popularity of the seven-seater. In a strategy to leverage the Ertiga’s potential further, Maruti Suzuki had launched the Tour M a few days ago appealing to fleet and taxi operators at a price of Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and now the deliveries begin across India from today.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Tour M is based on the regular VXi variant and it comes packed with many safety and premium features. It gets dual front airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), reverse parking sensors, high-speed warning system, seatbelt reminder, stereo with Bluetooth and multi-functional steering mounted with audio and telephony controls.
Other main features include a coloured TFT multi-info display, electrically adjustable and foldable wing mirrors, air conditioning vents for rear passengers, two-tone interior theme, chrome tipped parking brake lever, gear shift knob with chrome finish, day/night adjustable IRVM, remote keyless entry, etc.
As for the performance, the Maruti Suzuki Tour M uses the regular 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with smart hybrid technology helping in returning good fuel efficiency (claimed at 18.18 kmpl). In the standard Ertiga, the powertrain replaced the 1.4-litre engine that was in the business for long and is good enough to generate a maximum power output of 104.7 PS and 138 Nm of torque.
It is paired with a five-speed manual transmission only to keep the pricing for the taxi segment competitive. With good level of features and the practicality of enabling space to seven people, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Tour M looks like an appealing package for cab aggregators and it has top speed limited to 80 kmph. It can be had in three colours: Pearl Midnight Black, Pearl Arctic White and Metallic Silky Silver.
