2019 Maruti Ciaz to get all new 1.5L petrol engine with smart hybrid technology
By now it has become fairly well-known that Maruti Suzuki India Ltd plans to launch an updated version of the Ciaz sedan in the Indian car market. The 2019 Maruti Ciaz facelift will launch on August 20, 2018 and is likely to be priced higher than the outgoing version. Our sources inform us that the authorized dealers have finally started receiving the first batch of the Ciaz facelift. Recently, spy images of the Delta petrol variant leaked online.
The 2019 Maruti Ciaz facelift will sport a handful of styling updates and some more features. However, the biggest change will be in the form of the introduction of the all-new K15B, four-cylinder petrol engine.
This engine outputs 104 PS and 138 Nm, which is 12 PS and 8 Nm higher than what the 1.4-litre engine of the current car produces. Also, the Ciaz will become the first-ever Maruti Suzuki car to feature a petrol mild-hybrid powertrain. The 1.3-litre Multijet turbocharged diesel engine will be carried over unchanged.
The 2019 Ciaz facelift gets a thoroughly updated front-end that offers a sleeker front grille, a bolder bumper, and a set of updated headlights. The rear-end gets a set of updated tail lights. Also, with the launch of the facelift, even the Delta variant will be equipped with alloy wheels. On the inside, the spacious sedan receives a new wood trim and an updated instrument console. The new instrument binnacle comes with a coloured TFT Multi Information Display, blue needles, and Smart Hybrid branding.
Also, Maruti Suzuki has added a two new safety features to its hot-selling sedan. All the variants will come equipped with seat belt reminder for both driver and front passenger seat. The car will also have a speed alert system, which will remind the driver to stay within the speed limits. Furthermore, from the delta variant, Ciaz gets cruise control as standard. Like the pre-facelift model, the new 2019 Maruti Ciaz facelift will offer ABS and dual front airbags on all the trims.
