Kawasaki is on a roll in India as the company has already launched 2019 MY of Versys 650 and Z900 in India as part of the festival season. The Japanese manufacturer launched the 2019 Z650 in India at Rs. 5.29 lakh (Ex-Showroom) and the changes on the naked sports bike is limited to aesthetics only.
The Z650 is now available in a Metallic Flat Spark Black / Metallic Spark Black along with new graphics on tank shrouds and green colour for the frame does make the sports bike stand out. Kawasaki has given an aggressive design theme for Z650 with a sharp design for the headlamp.
The company has given single piece handlebar and the bike comes with split seats. The rider seat is positioned low on the body along with rear set foot pegs which gives an aggressive riding stance for the naked performance bike. The sporty design theme continues to the rear with LED tail lamps.
The company has focused on keeping weight low as the new frame of Z650 weighs just 15 kg and it is one of the reasons for nimble handling. The suspension duties are handled by 41 mm telescopic forks at front with 125 mm travel and horizontal back-link with adjustable preload. The fuel tank capacity is 15 litres and kerb weight is 190 kg.
The Z650 is powered by 649 cc liquid cooled 4-stroke parallel twin cylinder engine with fuel injection producing 68 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 65.7 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the company has given slipper clutch as standard along with dual channel ABS also.
The naked bike gets 300 mm dual semi-floating disc at front with dual position callipers and a single 220 mm petal disc at rear with a single piston. The company has given 17-inch wheels with 120/70 section tyre at the front and 160/60 section tyre at the rear. Kawasaki officially opened bookings of new Z650 and delivers will begin soon.
