The 2019 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will likely go on sale soon in India with cosmetic updates and a new BS6 diesel engine

Isuzu Motors has already been spied testing the facelifted D-Max V-Cross in India and it will feature newly designed tail lamps and new lighting graphics for the brake lamps, new projector headlamps replacing the halogen system, redesigned front grille, revised bumpers and a new set of alloy wheels.

On the inside, the 2019 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross gets dual-tone colour theme, usage of more upmarket materials, piano black finish on the dashboard, centre console and doors, updated seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, seats upholstered in leather, leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted controls, etc.

The lifestyle pickup will undergo major mechanical changes. Currently, it is powered by a 2.5-litre inline four-cylinder DOHC diesel engine that produces 134 bhp at 3,600 rpm and 320 Nm of peak torque delivered at 1,800 rpm. The powertrain has already been discontinued in several markets across the globe and it will be replaced by a smaller and turbocharged oil-burner in India.

The 1.9-litre four-cylinder diesel unit will pump out a maximum power output of 162 bhp and 360 Nm – 28 bhp and 40 Nm more compared to the outgoing engine. It will meet the more stringent BS6 emission standards coming into effect from April 2020. It will be paired with a new six-speed manual transmission that will stand in place of the five-speed unit.

Moreover, a six-speed automatic transmission will also be on offer with a four-wheel-drive system as standard. The D-Max V-Cross is retailed in Standard and High variants at prices of Rs. 15.30 lakh and Rs. 16.80 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). The upcoming automatic variant could cost around Rs. 2 lakh more than its manual counterpart.

The facelift will come equipped with dual front airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), high-speed warning alert, front seatbelt reminder and reverse parking sensors as standard fitment.
