The all-new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will rival the likes of Skoda Kodiak, Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in terms of pricing
The new generation Hyundai Santa Fe SUV made its debut in Geneva earlier this year. The South Korean auto giant even showcased the all-new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe at the recently conducted GIIAS 2018 in Indonesia. And now, we’ve got to learn that the all-new Santa Fe premium SUV could be India bound and launch here next year. In India, the new SUV will be pitted against the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
In India, Hyundai has sold the second- and the third-generation models of its flagship SUV. The third-generation Hyundai Santa Fe was discontinued in India last year owing to a really low demand. And now, it looks like the company is readying the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe for its India launch next year.
It may be noted here that the demand for premium SUVs has been on a rise. Honda Cars India Ltd, one of the major rivals of Hyundai Motor India Ltd, is close to launching the new-gen CR-V in India. This time around, the CR-V will offer a diesel engine and seven seats, which will allow it to take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner. The all-new Santa Fe, other than rivalling the ladder-on-frame models like the Fortuner and the Endeavour, will also rival the all-new Honda CR-V in the Indian market.
The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe has been penned as per company’s latest iteration of its Fluidic Design philosophy. It gets a bold front façade, an aggressive stance and several sporty design elements. We’ve always loved the modern-day Hyundai cars for their bold and well-sculpted looks and the new Santa Fe is no different in this aspect.
On the inside, it is more spacious than before. It also offers more features. There’s a new 3D instrument panel, a new touchscreen infotainment unit, and a new HUD. Internationally, the 2019 Santa Fe will go on sale with 2.4-litre petrol and 2.0-litre petrol engines along with a 2.2-litre diesel motor.
The new diesel engine, which is definitely the company’s choice for the Indian market, offers a maximum power of 200 bhp along with a peak torque of 434 Nm. The motor comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The diesel engine variant of the new Santa Fe also offers a third-row seating configuration.
