Fourth generation Hyundai Santa Fe gets a Kona-like front fascia with fresh grille and sleek headlamps; to receive host of new features

Hyundai is readying the fourth generation Santa Fe and ahead of revealing the car in flesh, the South Korean auto major has released design sketches of the car online. As it appears, next generation Santa Fe will come drawing design inspiration from the Hyundai Kona. Clearly, the fourth generation model of the premium SUV will look much more styling compared to the current Santa Fe.

As the design sketches have been revealed, the car features a large and bold looking front grille with aggressive honeycomb mesh pattern. The grille is flanked by sharp and sleek LED lights and there is a wide chrome bar at the edge of the hood. Sitting below the LED lights are the projector headlamps that sit in black housing. There is a muscular front bumper with central air intake flanked by rectangular fog lamps and a chunky skid plate as well.

Moving to the back of the SUV, there are wraparound and sleek LED taillights, integrated roof spoiler, a thick skid plate and a bumper with black cladding. The tailgate appears pretty muscular. Overall, the premium SUV would look more stylish and appealing from every angle as the latest design sketches suggest.

Not only exterior design, interior of the new Hyundai Santa Fe will come equally appealing and stylish thanks to a revised design and host of advanced features. The car will receive industry features like Rear Occupant Alert System. This system is capable of detecting rear occupants and alerts the drive accordingly. Also, it alerts the rear passengers about oncoming traffic when they are about to open door.

Powertrain options of the new Hyundai Santa Fe are yet to be disclosed by the auto manufacturer. Expect it to be powered by a 2.4-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, while there will be a 2.0-litre motor and a bigger 3.3-litre V6 unit as well.
