2019 BMW Z4 M40i uses a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 340 PS; boasts a slew of performance upgrades

Topping off the whole assortment of leaked images and documents, BMW has finally unveiled the long-awaited new installment of the Z4 roadster. As we showed you previously, the Z4 has come out on the M40i avatar and mimics the Concept Z4 showcased at last year’s Pebble Beach show with much adoration.

It features the dynamic kidney grille that has evolved from the rest of the range with mesh inserts, while the design traits continue with a unique long bonnet structure, sporty swept-back headlamps and wide air intakes for assisting air into the engine – crucial for real-time performance.

The front fender vents and raked windshield are accompanied by soft rooftop that is erected in place of the retractable unit seen previously. The BMW Z4 M40i also boasts sleek wraparound tail lamps, ventilated rear bumper positioned above the performance-based twin exhaust system, and boot integrated spoiler.

The interior of the BMW Z4 M40i comes equipped with a brand new three-spoke steering wheel, large iDrive infotainment system with in-car connectivity options, glossy metallic accents, large digital instrument cluster, etc. Celebrating the debut, the First Edition gains a number of new features.

The German auto major has not revealed the full specification sheet yet but it is powered by the 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 340 PS. It, along with M Sport brakes and rear diff, sport suspension with electronically controlled dampers, 50:50 weight distribution, enables the new Z4 to go from zero to 96 kmph in just 4.4 seconds.
