Bajaj is expected to launch 2019MY Pulsar 220F soon and the ABS model will be introduced next year

Bajaj is going to launch the updated Pulsar 220F in India soon and the changes on the 2019 model have been detailed in a new video. The basic design theme of Pulsar 220F has been carried over and the changes are limited to aesthetics only. The company has given a new engine belly cover and new graphics on the 2019 version.

The Pulsar 220F featured in the video doesn’t come with the ABS system and it is expected to be introduced in January 2019 only. We are expecting the company to offer the 220F with a single channel ABS system to keep cost down, as other models in the Pulsar range will also get the same system.

Bajaj has given the same 220 c single cylinder engine with carburetor system as the FI model was discontinued earlier and it produces 21 bhp of power at 8,500 rpm and 19 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. This engine is mated to 5-speed gearbox and it is tuned for sporty riding. Bajaj has improved refinement on the engine compared to the previous model.

The braking power comes from 260 mm disc brake at the front and 230 mm disc brake at the rear. The company has given 17-inch wheels with 90/90 section tyre a front and 120/80 section tyre at the rear.  The 2019 model also comes with new graphics on the black wheels, which gives a sporty look for the bike.

The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and 5-way adjustable, nitrox shock absorbers at the rear. The engineers have tuned the suspension really well as the handling and ride quality is really good. Bajaj has given 15 litres of the fuel tank and 3.2 litres as reserve capacity. The Pulsar 220F returns 38 kmpl mileage.

The top speed of the Pulsar 220F is 134 kph and 0-60 kph in 3.9 sec. The performance bike is available in four new colours – Laser Black, Dyno Red, Chrome Black and Nuclear Blue. The Pulsar 220F competes against TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Honda CB Hornet 160 R. The company is expected to introduce the new generation of Pulsar range in the near future.
