2019 Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear features minor cosmetic and some important mechanical updates over the standard model

Bajaj Auto has today launched an updated version of their popular entry-level commuter offering Platina in India. Christened the Platina H Gear 110, it is priced at Rs. 53,376 for the drum variant and Rs. 55,373 for the disc variant (both prices, ex-showroom Delhi). Claimed to be the most comfortable Platina ever, it features first-in-segment H-Gear.

The 2019 Bajaj Platina H Gear 110 is an updated version of the existing Platina ComforTec 110. Although the styling of the motorcycle hasn’t changed much, it has received a few interesting additional features. As you all can clearly notice the motorcycle gets a new digital console with a first-of-its kind ‘Gear-Shift-Guide’, trip-meter & fuel indicator. The digital display unit features an amber backlit and it offers additional information including a service reminder, low battery warning and an odometer.

Additionally, the digital display also has a gear indicator as well that warns the rider if they ride the motorcycle in wrong gear. If you take a closer look you will also notice that the single piece seat has also been updated as well and it looks slightly more premium and well padded.

The Platina H Gear 110 is powered by the same 115cc, single cylinder, air-cooled DTS-i engine. This unit paired with a new 5-speed gearbox. The current unit that powers the Platina 110 ComforTec produces about 8.6 PS of peak power at 7,000 rpm and 9.81 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. There is a fair chance that the updated gear ratios and the carburettor will help in improving the fuel efficiency of the motorcycle.

Additionally, the motorcycle also features a front disc brake with the mandatory combined braking system (Bajaj calls it anti-skid brakes). The suspension duties of the motorcycle, on the other hand, are handled by a telescopic fork at the front and nitrox gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. The Platina H Gear 110 also features 80/100 17 tubeless units at both its front and rear wheels.

The ‘Gear-Shift-Guide’ guides the rider to upshift or downshift, depending on the gear and speed combination helping in avoid snatching by ensuring that the motorcycle is always on appropriate gear. It has an additional ‘Highway Gear’, optimised for delivering the right mix of pickup and fuel economy on long-distance running.

It also features an all-new feather-touch gear shift mechanism for easy and quick gear changes. Other important features are tubeless tyres, quilt pattern seat with stitch lines, 3D logo with new decals, sturdy frame, etc. The Platina 110 H-Gear is available in three paint schemes: Ebony Black with Blue decals, Ebony Black with Royal Burgundy decals and in Cocktail wine Red. It is sold across all Bajaj Auto dealerships in India.
