Aprilia revealed a minor update for SR150 at the 2018 Auto Expo and the company is going to launch this model next month in India. The dealer dispatch of the new model has commenced and changes are limited to aesthetics only. One of the negatives of SR150 was its instrument cluster as it is basic compared to competitors.
Aprilia is addressing this problem in the new model as SR150 comes with an LCD screen in the cluster, which displays fuel gauge, odometer, two trip meter and time. The speedometer is analogue, but the company has tweaked the design and backlight display is different from the outgoing model. The current model doesn’t even come with trip meter.
The updated SR150 also comes with a new blue & red paint scheme along with current colour options like Red & White, Red & Black and Red & Green. To clear stock of the current model, Aprilia is offering benefits of up to Rs. 10,000 and this includes 5 years of mandatory insurance, 5 years warranty, first-year labour service free and on-road assist also.
Apart from this, the company is offering the lowest down payment of Rs. 3,999 or Paytm benefits up to Rs. 5000 or zero cost EMI. But this offer will be available only with current stocks. Aprilia SR150 is powered by 154.8 cc single cylinder engine producing 10.25 bhp of power at 6,750 rpm and 11.4 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm.
This engine is mated to CVT automatic transmission and the top speed of SR150 is around 110 kph depending on road conditions. The SR150 returns 35-40 kmpl and braking power comes from 220 mm disc brake at front and 140 mm drum at the rear. Aprilia has given 14-inch alloy wheels at both ends with 120/70 section tubeless tyre at front and rear.
Aprilia SR150 gets telescopic forks at the front and mono suspension at the rear, the company has tuned the suspension for handling rather than comfort. The performance scooter measure 1,985 mm in length, 703 mm in width and 1,166 mm in height. The wheelbase of SR150 is 1,365 mm and 155 mm of ground clearance.
