Maruti Suzuki has launched the latest iteration of its entry-level model – Alto 800. Maruti is yet to announce the price of the new version of the Alto 800 in the market, but the new models have already started arriving at the dealerships.

The all-new Alto 800 with updated features is expected to be announced by Maruti Suzuki soon, but all the details about the upcoming car have been revealed. What are the significant differences between the two model? Here is a list of all the differences between the old Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and the new updated model.

Overall, the shape of both cars remains identical. The 2019 version of Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 has been tweaked a little to ensure that it looks different from the older car. The front-end of the 2019 Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 looks slightly different because of the new grille that is now wider and connects both the headlamps.

The new all-black grille of the car makes the more modern version look mature. The headlights remain the same, but the pattern of the radiator grille has been updated with a new honeycomb design. The bumper of the new Alto 800 has been refreshed too, and the shape of the fog lamp housings gets a new form also. Apart from these changes, the vehicle remains identical and gets the same side and rear design. However, Maruti Suzuki now drops company fitted fog lights from Alto800.

A lot has changed on the inside of the cabin of the 2019 Alto 800 too. It now gets a dual-tone colour dashboard finished in beige and black shades from Alto K10. The dials in the cluster remain the same as of K10. The steering wheel remains the same from K10 too and it has been equipped with airbag as a standard and the same is mentioned on the cover of the horn.

Also, there are no mounted buttons on the steering wheel, similar to the older model. In the centre of the dashboard, a standard infotainment system is placed that gets connectivity options like FM, Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in support.

Safety

The 2019 Alto 800 gets standard safety features to meet the new rules that came in on 1st April 2019. The Alto 800 now gets driver-side airbag, rear parking sensors, ABS+EBD, speed warning and driver and co-driver seat belt warning. None of these features was offered with the older Alto. The Alto 800 will be updated again later this year to meet the new BNVSAP norms that will be enforced in October 2019.

The engine of the 2019 Alto 800 remains untouched, and it gets all the same power and torque output like the older model. The Alto 800 is powered by a 796cc, three-cylinder petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 48 Bhp at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 69 Nm at 3,900 rpm. It only gets a 5-speed manual transmission. The Alto K10, which gets a more powerful engine also offers an AMT automatic transmission option. Mechanically, the 2019 Alto 800 remains similar to the older version of the model.
