The updated Yamaha FZ-S FI also gains new blue paint scheme and body graphics along with redesigned mirrors

Yamaha has announced updates for its popular 150 cc FZ-S and it is part of the 10-year celebration of the well-renowned FZ series in India. The 2018 Yamaha FZ-S FI has been priced at Rs. 86,042 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and due to the addition of the rear disc brake, it costs around Rs. 3,000 more than the previous model. With an updated stance, the FZ-S competes against its fierce rivals such as Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Suzuki Gixxer and the Honda CB Hornet 160R.

Although not too substantial, the engineers at Yamaha have brought in some exterior modifications like a brand new paint scheme called the Armada Blue. Apart from the colour choice, changes have been made to the body graphics as well to render a refreshed vibe. Moreover, the oval shaped side-mirror design has been replaced with a new sharper styling.

As for the powertrain, the 2018 Yamaha FZ-S continues to utilise the 149 cc, air-cooled, fuel injected, single-cylinder motor which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 13 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 12.8 Nm of peak torque delivered at 6,000 rpm.
