TVS introduced a new variant of its popular XL 100 in India and it is priced at Rs. 36,109 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The XL 100 is one of the best selling two wheelers in India since its launch in 1980. The new XL 100 i-Touch is the most expensive model of XL series in India which include base model and XL Heavy Duty.
The XL 100 i-Touch Start comes with electric starter motor along with a UBS phone charger placed conveniently on the instrument cluster, LED DRL placed below headlight and new Purple colour round of the changes. TVS has also given split seats for new variant as the pillion seat can be removed to carry extra luggage.
The XL 100 series is a very practical moped and it so popular around rural part of the country. Even though the engine is small but it has decent grunt to carry people and stuff along with excellent fuel efficiency and low maintenance.
The XL 100 got a new engine in 2016 and last year the company updated the engine to meet BSIV emission norm. TVS XL 100 i-Touch Start is powered by 99 cc single cylinder four stroke engine producing 4.3 bhp of power and 6.5 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a single speed gearbox.

According to TVS, the moped can return 67 kmpl and top speed is 60 kph. The XL 100 i-Touch weighs just 86 kgs only. The XL 100 gets telescopic suspension at front and dual hydraulic shock absorbers at rear. The instrument cluster is basic with just analog speedometer.
TVS is offering XL 100 in five colours – Red, Green, Blue, Black and Grey. The XL 100 doesn’t have a direct rival in India as other manufacturers haven’t tried this segment and the only nearest competitor in pricing is Honda Cliq.
