The updated Skoda Fabia will get all-LED lighting package; becomes sharper in appearance than the predecessor

Skoda is all set to unveil the updated Fabia hatchback at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show in March. Ahead of the official unveiling, the Czech auto manufacturer has teased the car’s design online giving us a preview how it is going to look like. It appears, Skoda has applied the latest design language to the hatchback like all its current crop of models.

Up front, the updated Skoda Fabia gets signature butterfly pattern front grille with chrome detailing around it and blackened vertical slats that enhance its boldness further. The headlamps will come sharp looking and they will feature LED projector lamps along with integrated LED daytime running lights. Front bumper too will appear with a revised and sculpted look.

The 2018 Skoda Fabia gets a hood that is in line with its latest generation models. Interestingly, Skoda didn’t bother to give the hatchback a generational lift like the Volkswagen Polo. Instead the automaker applied several design updates that make it much more appealing compared to the third generation Fabia presently available in market.

Moving to the side profile, 2018 Skoda Fabia looks much sharper thanks to the crisp and sleek character lines. It could receive new design sporty alloy wheels enhancing the style quotient further. At the back, the car is expected to receive a roof spoiler and all-LED taillights that will add sportiness and premiumness to the model.

Despite being available in Indian market previously, Skoda discontinued the Fabia hatchback here due to low sales. Now, with the market scenario changed drastically and premium hatchback becoming increasingly popular, we can hope the auto major to relaunch the car here. Also, as Skoda aims to increase its market stake here, Fabia could play key role if launch in domestic market with competitive pricing.

Speaking about the updated model, not only exterior, inside the cabin too it would receive several updates. These would include a new steering wheel, revised instrument cluster and a larger updated touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On the powertrain front too, Skoda could update the engines to generate more power and torque along with better mileage.
