2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography is benefitted by the cosmetic updates applied on the Range Rover facelift;
gets three engine options
Jaguar Land Rover had officially announced earlier that they will be making their presence felt at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show with an array of new and updated products. The motoring exhibition opens to the general public on the 1st of December at the LA Convention Center following the AutoMobility LA – a four-day press and trade event. A key figure at JLR’s show stand will be the new version of the Range Rover SVAutobiography and a couple of pictures of it have come to the fore ahead of debut.
Making its world premiere, the 2018MY SVAutobiography obviously gets all the cosmetic upgrades the facelifted Range Rover received in October. The revisions made are to the interior, mechanical components and of course the front fascia of the vehicle. Spawn out of Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, it endeavours to become a sanctuary for relaxation and doubles up as a mobile technology hub, according to the brand.
JLR are also keen to unveil the Dynamic version of the SVAutobiography as well in downtown LA. It benefits from the technical and visual updates brought into the 2018 MY lineup with a commanding stance. It comes powered by a V8 engine which is supercharged to pump out a maximum power output of 575 hp and can accelerate from zero to 96 kmph in just 4.3 seconds.
It has an electronically limited top speed of 284 kmph. Other powertrain options are the 4.4-litre V8 and a plug-in hybrid. The latter uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, an electric motor and a powerful lithium-ion battery pack to produce a combined output of 398 hp.
The 2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography is considered to be a hallmark of the brand’s luxury. Inside the redesigned cabin, there are two ‘Executive Class’ rear seats enabling over 1.2 m of legroom and can be reclined by 40 percent. They feature a hot stone massage function besides heated calf and foot rests.
A large fixed center console incorporates number of different controls for the vehicle while
there are two rear tables, integrated 10-inch touchscreen infotainment displays screens with 4G WiFi connectivity, a small refrigerator housing two wine bottles, a Power Deployable Veneered Loadspace Floor for easy loading and unloading. Prices for the 2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography start at £167,850 (Rs. 1.43 crore) in the UK and it goes up to £177,030 (Rs. 1.51 crore).
The plug-in hybrid versions of the Range Rover and the Sport will also be present at the LA show and they can be driven on electric power for up to 50 km. Jaguar will also showcase the E-Pace SUV, XRJ 575 luxury sedan, XF Sportbrake and I-Pace eTrophy prototype at the upcoming motoring show.
Back in July, the Dynamic edition of the SVAutobiography was introduced in India with a slew of luxurious features and an uprated 540 bhp producing 5.0-litre V8 engine. We can expect the facelifted Range Rover series to enter our market sometime next year.
