The 2018 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are equipped with a whole host of design updates and new equipment
Jaguar Land Rover India has announced today that the bookings for the Model Year 2018 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport have opened in the domestic market. For the Land Rover family, the Range Rover has always been at the forefront of luxurious excellence in off-roading with signature SUV credentials.
The MY2018 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport comes with a whole host of design updates and new equipment such as the Pixel-laser LED headlights that are brighter yet don’t dazzle oncoming traffic, Touch Pro Duo infotainment and a new Atlas mesh grille design.
An Executive Class rear seating with power deployable centre console, air cabin ionisation that cleanses and purifies the cabin air, Gesture sunblind that opens and closes at the occupant’s hand movement, ‘Hot-stone’ massage function with heated seats and Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist among a list of others. The Touch Pro Duo infotainment system had dual high-definition touchscreen controls.
The four engine options in which the updated models will be available are 3.0-litre TDV6 turbocharged diesel, 4.4-litre SDV8 turbo diesel, 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol and a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol. The base variants will get the smaller 3.0-litre engine making 190 kW and 600 Nm while the 4.4-litre unit develops 250 kW and 740 Nm.
On the other hand, the 3.0-litre V6 petrol pumps out 250 kW and 450 Nm, and the range-topping 5.0-litre V8 delivers 386 kW and 625 Nm of peak torque. In India, the Land Rover range starts from Rs. 43.80 lakh for Discovery Sport and it goes all the way up to Rs. 1.74 crore for the Range Rover.
With minor price hike, we can expect the Range Rover Sport to be priced at around Rs. 1 crore when it goes on sale (all prices, ex-showroom pain India). The bookings for the 2018 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are opened at all the 27 authorised dealerships of Land Rover across the country.
