2018 Porsche 911 GT3 gets power from a 4.0L six-pot engine making 493 bhp and 540 Nm connected to an optional six-speed manual gearbox
The brand new 911 GT3 has been introduced by Porsche for the domestic market today. It carries a price tag of Rs. 2.19 crore (ex-showroom) and made its world premiere earlier this year in Geneva. The 2018 Porsche GT3 is a pinnacle of what sports cars can achieve in this advance world of automotive excellence. Deliveries for the new 911 are expected to begin in the coming weeks and the bookings are open ever since the cloak was lifted at the Geneva Motor Show.
The Porsche 911 GT3 derives power from a signature 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 493 bhp and 540 Nm of peak torque. To entice the purists, the Germany manufacturer will delightfully be offering a six-speed manual transmission while others can opt for a seven-speed PDK automatic gearbox. It is claimed to accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds and can top out 318 kmph.
The manual gearbox equipped GT3 will be half a second slower than the automatic counterpart while being able to achieve a top speed of 320 kmph. Porsche has made several changes to the GT3 when compared to its predecessor. For instance, it is built on a lightweight chassis and is aerodynamically superior and has a tuned chassis with rear axle steering. On the outside, the Porsche 911 GT3 has unique LED Daytime Running Lights, big rear wing, smoked headlamps, bigger wheels aiding more traction and so on.
Other significant features are automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Bose Surround Sound system, optional carbon fibre and aluminium inserts and electrically adaptive sports seats amongst a whole host of personalisation options.
