Mitsubishi’s Indian arm listed the all-new Outlander SUV on its official website back in August 2017 but its launch timeline remained as a mystery. It is more muscular in terms of design compared to the outgoing model. The second generation Outlander entered Indian market in 2008 before enduring a substantial update in 2010 but due to rivals catching up it fell short in sales.

The upcoming model’s bookings have commenced in India officially and is claimed to have aero efficient front end and roof design helping in reducing drag coefficient by 7 percent. Here is everything you need to know about the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander:

The new Mitsubishi Outlander measures 4,695 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width and 1,710 mm in height along with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm. It stands 190 mm above the ground and has minimum turning radius of 5.3 m. It tips the weighing scale at 1,602 kg and the fuel tank has 60 litres of capacity. It is longer and taller than the upcoming CR-V courtesy of the monocoque chassis it is built on.

Power is sent via six-speed CVT with paddle shifters and onto multi-select electronically-controlled 4WD system.

The new Outlander is suspended on MacPherson strut with coil springs and stabilizer bar at front and multi-link with coil springs and stabilizer bar at the rear.
