The 2018 Mercedes-Benz C Class sedan takes design inspiration from its bigger sibling E-Class. Its new LED headlamps are clearly inspired by E-Class. Following the brand’s new design language, it gets a much smoother and flowing design compared to the current model. This certainly helps in enhancing the suaveness and aerodynamic efficiency as well. Inside the cabin, 2018 Mercedes C-Class gets features identical to the flagship S-Class sedan. It gets an updated touchscreen infotainment system, new touchpad and a new multifunction steering wheel as well.

Instrument cluster and dashboard too receive minor changes in order to come with more stylish and ergonomic appearance. Seats and upholstery get improved quality materials. On the powertrain front, the heavily updated C-Class will get a new 2.0-litre diesel engine that will replace the 2.1-litre motor currently available with C220d and C250d. The new engine is claimed to be more powerful and more fuel efficient as well.

Apart from the addition of this new 2.0-litre diesel engine, rest of the motors are expected to remain same. In that case, it would be available with an 184 hp generating 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 245 hp producing 2.0-litre unit. Also, there will be a 3.0-litre V6 engine and a 4.0-litre V8 motor for the AMG variants.

However, it is to be seen, which engines come on offer for the India-spec models. Considering Merc’s strategy of introducing global products in short duration following their debut in India, we can expect the new C-Class to arrive at our shores in mid-2018.
