The new quarter-litre Freeride claims to retain the benefits of its siblings along with some additional improvements

KTM has just took the wraps off its new adventure bike – the 2018 Freeride 250 F. The motorcycle aims at amateurs riders in terms of off-roading. The newly launched bike takes its inspiration from its elder sibling, that is the Freeride 350.

The 2018 KTM Freeride 250 F shares a similar chassis with the Freeride 350. The frame has been revised in order to fit a smaller displacement engine. The quarter-litre dirt bike receives a fresh fender up front along with the headlight mask and the inclusion of some fancy decals makes this bike look class apart from its family members.

As the name suggests, the KTM Freeride 250 F gets its power from a 250cc engine that churns out respective power and torque outputs of 20 bhp and 18 Nm. The company has also introduced an unrestricted version of the motorcycle that witnesses some bigger power and torque numbers viz 26 bhp and 22 Nm respectively. Furthermore, the engine has been linked to a traction control system that offers different modes.

The KTM Freeride 250 F has been fitted with 43mm inverted forks upfront along with a monoshock for the rear and both these have been sourced from the house of WP. The motorcycle rides over 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels that come shod with Maxxis off-road tyres. The motorcycle has a total kerb weight of just 99 kilograms. The bike is claimed to carry forward the benefits of the previous Freeride models in addition to a lightweight chassis and improvement in handling.
