The changes in the new ZX-10RR are mostly on the engine front; India launch can be expected in a few weeks
Kawasaki has just took the wraps off the 2018 edition of Ninja ZX-10RR sportsbike. It is being said that the Japanese manufacturer has implemented all its learning from the racetrack in the new 2018 ZX-10RR motorcycle. Primarily, the updates are on the performance front and cosmetically, the motorcycle looks almost identical to the 2017 version.
The new 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR continues to receive its power from the same 998cc, inline four cylinder engine that has been linked to a six-speed transmission system. The fuel injected motor churns out respective power and torque outputs of 197 bhp and 114 Nm. Talking of changes, the motorcycle receives a new cylinder head that has an additional clearance in order to give space to high lift racing cams.
Besides this, the crankcase in the motorcycle has been reinforced for greater strength and an enhanced rigidity, resulting in greater reliability. This is not where the list of changes come to an end. Spaces between the connecting passage ways between cylinder have also been narrowed so that the wall thickness can be increased in order to increase the strength and reliability.
The 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR also features silver coloured reservoirs behind the lower fork legs. The fork caps are now green instead of red. The braking system on the new Ninja ZX-10RR comprises of twin 330mm disc brakes at the front along with a single 220mm disc brake at the rear and ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) comes standard.
The suspension duties on this litre class sportsbike are taken care of with the help of 43mm inverted forks upfront along with gas charged monoshock at the rear. The motorcycle has a total kerb weight of 206 kgs and has been fitted with a 17-litre fuel tank. The 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR is expected to be launched in India in the coming weeks. The existing 2017 model retails here at a price of Rs. 21.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
