Honda Clarity plug-in hybrid was unveiled first at 2017 New York Auto Show; to go on sale in US from 1st December
Honda is ready to start selling the Clarity plug-in hybrid in US from 1st December 2017. The car was unveiled at the 2017 New York Auto Show and now, the Japanese auto giant has announced its pricing. The plug-in hybrid sedan is priced from $33,400, which converts to around Rs. 22 lakh. There is a more luxurious touring variant that is priced at $36,600.
The 2018 Honda Clarity plug-in hybrid model comes with a sharp and eye-catching design. It features sharp and sleek LED headlamps with L shaped LED daytime running lights. The front grille boasts honeycomb mesh and the automaker’s signature horizontal chrome bar visible in various Honda models. It blends perfectly to the headlamp cluster.

A sculpted looking front bumper is there with honeycomb mesh incorporated air intake. The hood boasts sleek creases running towards the front grille. Side profile features sharp creases, a suave and nicely curved roofline. The Honda Clarity plug-in hybrid arrives with several advanced technologies inside the cabin. It boasts an eight-speaker premium audio system, multi-angle rear view camera, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate system, heated front seats etc.
The Touring variant appears with premium lather treatment on steering wheel. It also gets perforated leather seats and premium quality materials. Apart from that, it comes with power assisted front seats and a charging station displaying GPS navigation system as well.

On the powertrain front, both regular model and the Touring variant get a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor that gets energy from a 17 kWh battery pack. Combined, the plug-in hybrid powertrain kicks out 212 hp of peak power along with impressive fuel efficiency. Interestingly, the Clarity plug-in hybrid model can run up to 75 km on full electric mode. The battery needs around 2.5 hours to be fully charged.
