Compared to the outgoing model, the 2018 Honda Activa 125 gets a slight price increase of around Rs. 2,000 due to the addition of new features

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced an update to the Activa 125 in the domestic market. The 2018 Activa 125 is priced from Rs. 59,621 for the drum variant while the drum/alloy version costs Rs. 61,558 and the front disc variant at Rs. 64,007 (all prices ex-showroom, New Delhi). Compared to the outgoing model, the new version gets a slight price bump of around Rs. 2,000 due to the addition of new features.

The 2018 Honda Activa 125 adorns a brand new LED headlamp that will offer improved visibility while the semi-digital instrument console has received additional features such as an eco mode and service due indicator. Other new equipment include a switch for opening the seat and there is a four-in-one ignition system.

On the range-topping disc variant, the Activa 125 gets chromed muffler cover and the grey alloy wheels are available in middle variant as well. No powertrain changes have been made as the Honda Activa 125 continues to use the 124.9 cc single-cylinder engine, which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 8.52 hp and 10.54 Nm of peak torque.

While CBS (Combined Braking System) is offered across the range, only the top-end variant receives front disc brake, as the entry-level and mid-spec variants get drum brake setup instead. The Japanese two-wheeler giant has also included new colour options into the range as Matte Crust Metallic and Matte Selene Silver Metallic increase the buying choice of customers.

The popular scooter is hung on telescopic front fork and three-step adjustable monoshock at the rear. Honda has updated the Activa 125 in response to the growing competition in its segment especially from the Suzuki Access 125. With the soon-arriving Suzuki Burgman Street 125, the rivalry in the 125 cc scooter segment is about to get expanded.
