The 100cc commuter bike gets new paint scheme, blackened out engine and blackened wheels; initially available in Odisha only
Hero MotoCorp has reintroduced the 110 cc commuter bike HF Dawn in India. The 2018 Hero HF Dawn comes priced at Rs. 37,400 (ex-showroom, Odisha) and it is initially available in Odisha only. The two-wheeler manufacturer will roll out the model in all other states across the country soon.
The 2018 Hero HF Dawn gets new paint scheme, Red and Black. It comes featuring a blackened out engine block and blackened wheels as well. Another change made in the model is the BS-IV emission norm compliant engine. Hero MotoCorp stopped selling the commuter bike back in May 2017 as it didn’t meet the mandatory BS-IV emission norm. Now with the relaunch of the most affordable commuter bike in the country, Hero is expecting to see a significant sales boost.

The bike rivals with models like Bajaj CT100B and TVS Sport in its segment. Speaking about its design, the bike comes wearing a very basic styling. It gets a large round shaped headlamp with black bezel. An all analog instrument cluster is there, while the fuel tank comes with minimalistic approach. A long and plain seat is there.
The rear grab rail, tail section, long exhaust muzzle, leg guard are all blackened out. Suspension setup too has been blackened out. It runs on black multispoke wheels. For braking duty, the bike relies on drum brakes on both front and rear end. Suspension duty is done by telescopic front forks and twin shock absorber at back.

So far, the silhouette of the bike remains same, but replacing the chrome or silver elements with black paint has added little bit stylish approach to the model.
On the powertrain front, 2018 Hero HF Dawn gets energy from the same 97.2 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine coupled with a 4-speed transmission. Power and torque output of the engine remains unchanged. It kicks out 8 bhp of peak power and 8 Nm of peak torque. It is not sure, if mileage of the bike has been improved or not.
