Ford officially launched the Aspire facelift model in India at Rs. 5.55 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The company has made aesthetics and mechanical changes to make the new model better as it is going to take on the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the second generation Honda Amaze, which was launched earlier this year.
All three models are available with petrol and diesel engines but the Aspire only offers the automatic option with petrol engine while Amaze and Dzire offer it with petrol and diesel also. Ford offers Aspire in five variants – Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium and Titanium Plus. But the Honda and Maruti offer only four variants.
In this article, we are comparing the price of new Aspire against segment favourites Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze. Ford has priced the Aspire aggressively as the entry-level petrol variant Ambiente is priced at Rs. 5.55 lakh, which is 5000 rupees cheaper than Dzire. The Amaze base petrol model is Rs. 25,000 more expensive than Aspire.
The price gap increases when it comes to diesel base variants as Aspire price starts at Rs. 6.45 lakh compared to Rs. 6.57 lakh of Dzire. Like petrol, the Amaze is priced way higher than both these models at Rs. 6.90 lakh. All three models come with similar features on the base variant with standard safety features like the dual airbags and ABS.
When we climb up the price ladder, the gap between Aspire and Amaze is coming down but the price difference between Aspire and Dzire is increasing. The top end petrol variant of Aspire has priced at Rs. 7.24 lakh and Amaze at Rs. 7.68 lakh, but the Dzire is Rs. 74,000 more expensive than Aspire.

The price difference between Aspire and Amaze increases considerably, when it comes to top end diesel variants as the Ford is priced at Rs. 8.14 lakh compared to Rs.8.78 lakh for Amaze and Rs. 8.97 for Dzire. The top end variants of all three models come with features like touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, reverse camera with parking sensors, automatic headlamp, push-button start, keyless entry and rain sensing wipers.

But when it comes to automatic petrol, the Aspire is the most expensive model at Rs. 8.49 lakh and the cheapest is Amaze at Rs. 8.10 lakh, while Dzire is priced at Rs, 8.47 lakh. The most advanced gearbox of three is Amaze with CVT automatic transmission with paddle shifters while Aspire comes with regular torque converter but still it is better than AMT on Dzire.
