Ducati has introduced a handful of new motorcycles including the Panigale V4 and Scrambler 1100 just ahead of the 2017 EICMA show officially gets underway. One of the most anticipated motorcycles from the Italian manufacturer’s stable has been the all-new Multistrada 1260 as the new range gets a handful of updates.
As the name change indicates, the new Italian top-notch adventure class motorcycles feature the 1,262 cc DVT engine borrowed from the Ducati XDiavel. The revisions would not just be limited to the new engine, however, as modifications have been made to the steel trellis chassis of the Multistrada 1200.
The engine in the present day Multistrada 1200 develops an output of 150 bhp and hence, the upcoming model gains a significant power over the existing bike.
The bigger engine has been designed to develop its power low down the rev range courtesy of the variable valve technology and the Ducati engineers says the Ducati Multistrada 1260 makes 85 percent of its torque below 3,500 rpm. Ducati will also sell an optional up-and-down quickshifter. It is standard on the different S models in the lineup.
The gorgeous Ducati Multistrada 1260 S Pikes Peak version tips the weighing scale at 206 kg dry) – nearly 3 kilograms lighter than the base model of Multistrada 1260.Service intervals on the valves are said to be at 30,00 km attractively.
Interestingly, the Multistrada 1260 will have lesser emissions than the existing 1200. It will emit lower levels of hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide than the Multistrada 1200. The new Ducati Multistrada adventure tourer range expected to hit Indian shores sometime early next year.
